The Last Supper of Santa Croce Basilica

Florence, 2023

Built in the first half of the fourteenth century, the ancient refectory of the convent is a large rectangular room covered by a trussed roof. The function of the environment is underlined by the convivial scenes included in the fresco by Taddeo Gaddi on the back wall: in this space, in fact, the community used to share their meal times, generally accompanied by the reading of religious texts. The new lighting provides multiple scenarios to allow the place to be used as an exhibition space, as a conference room and concert hall.
